Time to build the Winder Bypass

My fellow Conservatives,
The time has come to stop talking about building
The Winder Bypass, and actually take the
necessary decisive steps, to get it done!
For years and years now, the citizens of
Winder, and Barrow County, have watched
and listened to a number of politicians, from
the local, state, and Federal Government
level, tell us how important the bypass is
for Winder, and Barrow County's future
economic growth potential.

So what's the problem then? The answer is
Money, of course! We don't have the money,
we can't/won't borrow the money, we won't
upset the status quo of the current traffic
gridlock that occurs here in Winder, on a daily
basis, that God forbid, would make business
life a little more bearable if we would just build
it!

So is there a potential solution for this problem?
Yes there is. It's called Forward thinking. I know
what your going to say. Forward thinking in Winder?
are you nuts? That will never happen. Well,
there is a way to change that. It's called
Inter-governmental cooperation. Can you
imagine how much we could accomplish
here in Barrow County, if every city Mayor,
city Council Member, BOC Chairman, and
Commissioners, along with all of our State
legislators and Federal Senate and House
members decided to get together and vow
to move forward with the Bypass??? Yes we
can get it done! The question is do we have
anyone who has the guts to lead the fight?
Do we have any elected officials who will
take the bull by the horns and get this done?

I would like to take this opportunity to gently
remind our elected officials, that the
citizens of Winder and Barrow County, have
had a major impact in getting each of them
elected, or re-elected, in recent years. Having
said that, the time has come for all of our elected
officials to return the favor, and put together
a powerful legislative initiative, that will get the
necessary funds to build the Winder Bypass
once and for all. Something for our elected
officials to think about........

Until Next Time...... From The Conservative Corner.....

Everything that you are saying now is correct. I do have a question, however. Concerning the Winder Bypass, is the entire bypass supposed to be inside the Winder city limits, or will there be parts of it located just next to spots like Wal-Mart west of the city limits and maybe a mile north along GA 11? The reason that I'm asking is because I haven't seen anything on a map having an idea as to what to possibly expect.

There have been several adjusted routes
that have been plotted due to wetland, and
other historical land and property devaluation
issues. For the most up to date routes contact
The BOC and/or The GA DOT.

Which "Winder By-Pass" are you referring to? There was an EAST & WEST Bypass BOTH Proposed over the last 30+ Years. The East basically died for total lack of action, IT involved Hwy 11. The WEST By-Pass just connects GA-316 to GA-211 and then to I-85 (By-Passing Winder & Barrow). It is so far west that it may not Help Downtown traffic as much as we think. The Eastern would have done more to alleviate that.

I am in favor of a complete by-pass East and West. I am not interested in the political
In-fighting, over which is more or less attractive
in terms of funding. I am interested in a road
system that enhances Barrow County's growth
for new and existing business opportunities.
Barrow must look beyond simple retail for
future job growth. We must have a balanced
mix of tech and industrial growth, to enhance
tax revenue growth.
Thank you for your comment.

Message to Iran; Drop Nukes, or NO DEAL!
March 30, 2015
Fellow Conservatives, The Obama Administration clearly has not done a credible job in trying to negotiate a long term Nuke deal with Iran, to stabilize the security of the region, as well as Israel's existence. Fellow Conservatives, Once again it appears that our Socialist-n-Chief, Obama, has consumed an overdose of his own Kool-Aid.
