Everything that you are saying now is correct. I do have a question, however. Concerning the Winder Bypass, is the entire bypass supposed to be inside the Winder city limits, or will there be parts of it located just next to spots like Wal-Mart west of the city limits and maybe a mile north along GA 11? The reason that I'm asking is because I haven't seen anything on a map having an idea as to what to possibly expect.
There have been several adjusted routes
that have been plotted due to wetland, and
other historical land and property devaluation
issues. For the most up to date routes contact
The BOC and/or The GA DOT.
Which "Winder By-Pass" are you referring to? There was an EAST & WEST Bypass BOTH Proposed over the last 30+ Years. The East basically died for total lack of action, IT involved Hwy 11. The WEST By-Pass just connects GA-316 to GA-211 and then to I-85 (By-Passing Winder & Barrow). It is so far west that it may not Help Downtown traffic as much as we think. The Eastern would have done more to alleviate that.
I am in favor of a complete by-pass East and West. I am not interested in the political
In-fighting, over which is more or less attractive
in terms of funding. I am interested in a road
system that enhances Barrow County's growth
for new and existing business opportunities.
Barrow must look beyond simple retail for
future job growth. We must have a balanced
mix of tech and industrial growth, to enhance
tax revenue growth.
Thank you for your comment.
