Description: Georgia’s biggest two-day plant sale returns next month as the Hall County Master Gardeners present their Fall Garden Expo Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 at Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center in Gainesville! What an appropriate time to celebrate Fall! Last year the Master Gardeners welcomed 1100 eager shoppers! Regular Expo visitors will recognize many returning vendors such as Nichols Nursery, Charles Street Garden, Smithgall Woodland Garden, Horizons Ltd and Gardeners Pottery. We are lining up a varied cast of vendors so the public can have plenty of varieties of plants to choose from, including native plants which more gardeners agree are hardier and attract beneficial insects such as pollinators. Also available will be just plain fun stuff too! Who doesn’t love yard art? There will also be speakers each day. Come hear Michael Wheeler, Hall County Extension Agent, on Friday at 11 am speaking on Planting and Caring for Woody Shrubs and Trees. Also on Friday at 1 pm Eleanor Craig will be talking about Hardy Ferns and Companions for the Shade Garden. Food vendors will be there too. Carts will be available to borrow. There is a Holding Area for shoppers whose eyes are bigger than their carts to place their goodies while they head back into the shopping arena with a newly empty cart to fill! Save the dates and the times – Friday the gates open from 8:30-5 and on Saturday from 8:30-4. There is a $2 per adult admission fee. Children are admitted free, but pets have to stay home. And why not plan ahead for Spring, and save those dates for the Spring Garden Expo April 4 and 5, 2014! More information is available at 770-535-8293 or
