The Dec. 21 Christmas Party for the Boys & Girls Club of Winder was hosted at the Winder Community Center by the Winder Police Department and the Winder Noon Lions Club, with support from the Winder Fire Department and Holiday Connection. Mayor Chip Thompson said he got a call on the special hotline informing him that the Santa would be arriving. Dr. Tom kept the kids entertained and then pizza and more was served. Winder Police Chief Stanley Rodgers introduced Boys & Girls Club board members in attendance including Bob Long, Dennis Dorsey, Sheriff Jud Smith, Sammy Hale and Stephanie Sorrells.
